Turkey's exports hit $22.6 billion in September

Turkey’s exports totaled $22.6 billion in September, up 9.2% from the same month last year, according to preliminary data released by the Trade Ministry on Tuesday.

The country’s imports soared 41.5% to $33 billion in the same period.

This September, the export-import coverage ratio was 68.5%, compared to 88.5% in September 2021.

The foreign trade deficit nearly four-folded year-on-year, hitting $10.4 billion last month.

In the first nine months of this year, Turkish exports grew 17.1% from a year ago to $188.2 billion, the preliminary reading showed.

Imports surged 40.8% on an annual basis to $272 billion in the January-September period, bringing the trade gap to $83.8 billion which saw a rise of 158.5%.
