Erdoğan says Turkey's inflation will fall to 20% in 2023

Turkey’s President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan said on Monday it was “apparent” that inflation would fall to around 40% in a few months, and further to 20% in 2023.

“I’m telling you frankly, everyone should make their calculations according to 20 percent inflation in 2023. Trust, protect and support your country,” Erdoğan said after the cabinet meeting in the capital Ankara.

Erdoğan’s economy message

Erdoğan stressed that avoiding all kinds of savings that will harm the future of the country with short-term worries and earnings concerns is crucial.

Turkey’s annual inflation declined to 84.39% in November, data showed last week, easing from a peak of 85.51% a month earlier.

The president added that they strive to compensate for the decline in employee well-being.
