The head of the newly-formed political party, The Party for Change (TDP), said they favor the parliamentary system.

Speaking at a press conference at his party’s headquarters, Mustafa Sarigul said they do not find it suitable for one person to rule a whole country alone.

“We want an impartial president, a strong parliament, an independent judiciary,” he said.

Sarigul noted they would support cooperation that serves this purpose and complies with its principles.

In his previous speech, the TDP leader explained his support to Kemal Kilicdaroglu, the presidential candidate for the Nation Alliance.

“Kilicdaroglu is the most suitable candidate for this transition period,” said Sarigul referring to the opposition’s transition plan to alter the presidential governance system.
