Türkiye saw 3,790 electric vehicle charging stations as of July 17, according to TurkStat’s figures.
The number of charging stations across the country stood at 1,719 at the beginning of 2023, while the number of charging points jumped to 8,001 from 3,081.
There are 27,476 rechargeable electric vehicles across Türkiye as of the end of June.
Compared to the European Union countries, Türkiye ranks high in the continent for the number of charging points per vehicle.
The country ranks 2nd in Europe for its AC charging points and 3rd for its DC charging points. Its place is 2nd for the total charging points.
Densely populated cities, such as Istanbul, Ankara, Antalya, and Izmir, have giant shares regarding the number of stations, with Istanbul ranking first thanks to its 2,200 charging points. The other three cities have 822, 682, and 402 points, respectively.
The market of electric vehicles and charging networks in Türkiye are rapidly improving, said the head of the country’s Energy Market Regulatory Authority.
“We both pave the way for our investors and make the necessary arrangements for the market where the highest quality service our consumers need will be provided,” Mustafa Yılmaz underlined.
