Holiday season in Antalya to be extended until November due to tourist flow

European tourists are becoming more prominent

The tourism sector in Antalya, a popular destination among holidaymakers, has observed a surge in the number of European tourists this year.

Representatives of the tourism industry have expressed their intention to extend the holiday season until mid-November.

The city, which hosted more than 15.5 million tourists in 2019, aims to surpass the 2019 record by the end of this year, with an increase in bookings since July.

Tourism sector representative İsmail Çağlar stated, “Our guests from the United Kingdom and Western Europe are becoming more prominent.”

“We have also welcomed a considerable number of guests from the Middle East this year,” he said. “The Kundu and Lara regions, in particular, attracted a significant number of Middle Eastern guests due to their proximity to the city.”

By the first week of September, Antalya had already welcomed over 11.35 million tourists.

“We anticipate reaching a total of 15-16 million visitors by the end of the year”, Çağlar expressed. “We are already planning for the next year.”
