The presidential candidate of the opposition bloc paid a visit to Hatay, which was severely affected by the earthquakes centered in Kahramanmaras.

Along with Ekrem Imamoglu –the Mayor of Istanbul and vice presidential candidate– Kemal Kilicdaroglu visited a cemetery to pray for the citizens who lost their lives due to the tremors. Then, he left flowers on their graves.

Hatay Mayor Lutfu Savas also accompanied Kilicdaroglu, the chairman of the main opposition Republican People’s Party (CHP).

The magnitude 7.7 and 7.6 quakes based in Kahramanmaras province have impacted some 13.5 million people across 11 provinces, including Hatay, Gaziantep, Adiyaman, Malatya, Adana, Diyarbakir, Kilis, Osmaniye, Sanliurfa and Elazig.

Speaking in a program in Hatay, Kilicdaroglu said they would complete the homes that were already started to be built after the earthquakes. “I promise, when we come to power, we will hand over everyone’s keys,” he said.

The presidential candidate also said they would not ask citizens for money to deliver homes.
