Turkey’s benchmark stock index opened at 1,180.92 points on Tuesday, increasing 0.22% or 2.57 points from the previous close.
BIST 100 INDEX EARNS AROUND 2.5 POINTS FROM PREVIOUS CLOSE
At the previous close, Borsa Istanbul’s BIST 100 index was up 1.09% at 1,178.35 points, with a daily trading volume of 22 billion Turkish liras ($2.8 billion).
The US dollar/Turkish lira exchange rate rose to 7.8960 as of 9.30 a.m. local time (0630GMT), versus 7.8740 at the previous close.
The euro/Turkish lira exchange rate also increased to 9.3180 from 9.3000, while one British pound traded for 10.3320 Turkish liras, up from 10.3070.
