Turkey’s benchmark stock index opened at 1,152.74 points on Friday, increasing 0.20% or 2.24 points from the previous close.
BIST 100 INDEX EARNS AROUND 2.2 POINTS FROM PREVIOUS CLOSE
At the previous close, Borsa Istanbul’s BIST 100 index was down 0.17% at 1,150.49 points, with a daily trading volume of 18.8 billion Turkish liras ($2.37 billion).
The US dollar/Turkish lira exchange rate rose to 7.9510 as of 9.30 a.m. local time (0630GMT), versus 7.9270 at the previous close.
The euro/Turkish lira exchange rate also increased to 9.3640 from 9.3060, while one British pound traded for 10.3210 Turkish liras, up from 10.2750.
