Türkiye’s President Recep Tayyip Erdogan visited Kahramaranmaras, which faced severe damages due to two catastrophic earthquakes on Feb 6.

Devlet Bahceli, the chairman of the Nationalist Movement Party (MHP), joined Erdogan to meet people in the city.

Erdogan will break fast in the quake-hit province on the first day of Ramadan.

He will also come together with citizens in the region in the upcoming days during the holy month, according to Anadolu.

“After the damage assessments, we will build 77,057 homes and 30,310 village houses in Kahramanmaras,” said Erdogan.

Homes will be built in a year

“We take all kinds of steps, especially diesel, fertilizer, animal husbandry, forage crops, and aquaculture support, in order to compensate the farmers and producers,” he said.

The Turkish president stated that they would build permanent residences within a year to hand them over to citizens who are entitled.
