The Turkish Foreign Ministry summoned the envoys of Denmark and the Netherlands on Monday to address the ongoing incidents of disrespect towards the Quran, the holy book of Islam, according to Turkish diplomatic sources.

The ministry expressed its dissatisfaction with these continued “vile attacks” to the charge d’affaires of the Denmark Embassy and minister counselor of the Netherlands in Ankara, the sources said who requested anonymity due to media communication restrictions.

“It was once again emphasized that Türkiye condemns and protests these actions in the strongest possible terms,” they added.

The move came after the continuation of the burning of the Quran in front of Türkiye’s embassies in Copenhagen and The Hague.

These attacks also occurred in the vicinity of embassies representing certain Muslim nations.

In recent months, Islamophobic figures and organizations in Northern Europe have persistently conducted acts of Quran burning.

Similar incidents have also sought to defile the sacred Muslim scripture, sparking anger and condemnation from both Muslim nations and the international community.
