Archie Battersbee in Essex, the UK was found unconscious with a ligature over his head, according to Sky News.

His mother Hollie Dance said she believed that Archie was involved in a dangerous challenge on social media.

Archie has been on life support since April while his family faced obstacles to delaying the withdrawal of the life support.

Speaking to Sky News outside the Royal London Hospital in London, the saddened mother said doctors in Turkey and Japan have contacted her, offering medical interventions to treat the 12-year-old.

Now, the family seeks to hear a decision in favor of Archie from the European Court of Human Rights (ECHR) to postpone a possible decision of canceling the life support treatment.

“I’m hoping that they (ECHR) step in and give Archie the right to live. I think he deserves that,” said Hollie. “We will not give up on Archie until the end.”

Criticizing the system in the UK, she said: “Very disappointed in our system, very let down. It’s disgraceful. It’s absolutely shameful.”

“Other countries offer so much hope and so many different treatments,” added the mother.
