The Israeli army Friday said it had downed a drone that infiltrated its airspace from Lebanon.
LEBANESE AUTHORITIES YET TO COMMENT
“The army shot down last night a drone that infiltrated from Lebanon into Israel,” the Israeli army said in a written statement.
It added that the drone was monitored until it was shot down by a military force. There was no immediate comment from the Lebanese side regarding the Israeli statement.
The Israeli army raised the alert on border two weeks ago in anticipation of operations by the Lebanese Hezbollah group.
Hezbollah has previously vowed to respond to the killing of one of its members in an airstrike believed to have been launched by Israel on a site near the Syrian capital Damascus
