During the wild protests, a police officer was hurt and at least two elderly women who tried to thwart vandalism attempts were targeted.

According to the Oregon city police department, an older woman who tried to stop the vandalism was hit with a bucket of white paint and then got into a shouting match with those in the crowd as one protester tried to wrap her in yellow police tape.

Police department shared a photo of the paint-drenched woman on Twitter, writing that she “was confronted by the group currently outside East Precinct.”

Another elderly woman using a walker was also captured on video trying to put out a fire with a fire extinguisher while a black-clad protester blocked her way.

As she activates the extinguisher, the person continues to block her from aiming the nozzle at the fire, until the elderly woman is ultimately successful, video shows.
