Russia expresses readiness to collaborate with Türkiye concerning naval matters

According to a Russian representative, talks are underway with Ankara encompassing diverse aspects of military-technical collaboration

A senior Russian official has expressed Moscow’s interest in forging a partnership with Türkiye regarding naval matters.

Dmitry Shugayev, who serves as the director of the Russian Federal Service for Military-Technical Cooperation (FSVTS), told TASS that Russia has an extensive array of proposals within the naval domain and is fully prepared to collaborate with Türkiye in this realm.

He said, “Russia has a wide range of proposals in the naval sphere, and we are ready to cooperate with Türkiye in this area.”

Shugayev stated that Russia and Türkiye have recently been exchanging views concerning various areas of military-technical cooperation.

Nevertheless, he cautioned that it’s currently premature to delve into specific projects pertaining to bilateral military-technical collaboration within the naval sphere.

“However, at the moment it is premature to talk about specific projects of bilateral military-technical cooperation in the naval sphere,” he added.

Shugayev made these remarks on the sidelines of the Army-2023 Forum.

The Army-2023 International Military-Technical Forum is currently underway from August 14 to 20.

Participation in the exhibition and business program includes approximately 1,500 prominent Russian defense industry firms, along with 85 foreign companies and organizations from seven different countries.

The Russian Defense Ministry is responsible for orchestrating this forum.
