Turkey’s benchmark stock index opened at 1,198.08 points on Monday, rising 0.45% or 5.35 points from the previous close.
BIST 100 INDEX GAINS 5.35 POINTS FROM PREVIOUS CLOSE
At the last week’s close, Borsa Istanbul’s BIST 100 index was up 1.04% at 1,192.73 points, with a daily trading volume of some 19.3 billion Turkish liras ($2.44 billion).
The US dollar/Turkish lira exchange rate rose to 7.9220 as of 9.30 a.m. local time (0630GMT), versus 7.9040 at the previous close.
The euro/Turkish lira exchange rate slightly increased to 9.2760 from 9.2710, while one British pound traded for 10.2720 Turkish liras, versus 10.2520 at Friday’s close.
