Muharrem Ince, the former presidential candidate who dropped out of the May election race, criticized the opposition parties due to the results.

President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan emerged victorious in the elections in the face of Kemal Kılıçdaroğlu, CHP leader and the National Alliane’s presidential candidate.

Speaking to reporters at a press conference in the capital Ankara, Ince listed the reasons why the opposition parties lost the election.

“Nonsense statements were made to the Turkish nation regarding Azerbaijan, a sensitive topic for Turkish people,” Ince said. “Nonsense statements were also made about the ‘Blue Homeland’ doctrine and Libya.

According to Ince, the parties in question were “openly” pro-US. “The statement concerning supporting Ukraine was wrong. Türkiye is carrying out a policy of balance and supporting this policy was a necessity,” he stated.

He went on to say that close relations were established with FETO members, who are responsible for the deadly coup attempt on July 15, 2016.

Just days ahead of the Turkish presidential elections in May, Muharrem Ince, the leader of the Homeland Party, withdrew as a candidate.

The 59-year-old politician pointed out a defamation campaign against him by the FETO terrorist organization.
