The aim is to hand over 9,800 of the housing units built for individuals whose homes were destroyed to the rightful owners by year-end.

Kahramanmaraş Governor Mükerrem Ünlüer stated that all government agencies are working tirelessly day and night to ensure that the victims of the disaster have all their needs met.

Emphasizing that the city was one of the areas most severely affected by the catastrophe, Ünlüer explained that they have a plan to hand over 9,800 of the housing units constructed for individuals whose homes were demolished to their rightful owners before the year’s end.

“The disaster survivors will be securely accommodated in their homes, constructed using modern methods with meticulous attention to detail,” he said. “Currently, the construction of 20,000 houses is underway through our TOKİ initiative.”

The February 6 earthquakes, centered in Pazarcık and Elbistan districts, caused deaths in 11 provinces.

The remaining residences will be completed by June 2024.
