According to the latest figures, 4,893,752 immigrants are currently living in the country.

The statement comes after overestimations regarding the number of immigrants made by some social media accounts.

The body said that the baseless comments on the number of foreigners in the country, especially on social media, and the published figures “do not reflect the truth.”

“Our fight against irregular migration continues with perseverance and determination,” it said.

The numbers of foreigners are published regularly every week on goc.gov.tr.
